Attendance

Regular attendance is essential for the academic and personal development of pupils at school.

How to Report an Absence

There are a number of ways that parents can report their child absent from school. These include ringing the school directly 01803 613095 or emailing admin@olota.uk

We ask parents to make contact with the school on the first day of absence, and follow up parents that we have not heard from on the same morning.

Holiday in Term time

National policy no longer allows schools to authorise holidays. Special leave may however be granted in "exceptional circumstances".

These circumstances include:

  • Wedding of close family member
  • Religious Observance
  • Funerals

Our policy on this is shared with most schools in Torbay. The full attendance policy can be found within the policy section of this website.  If you would like to request absence for your child please download and complete the form below.

Educational Welfare Officer
Mrs Down works closely with the school to identify families and pupils who may need support to achieve good attendance.  She works with families and parents offering guidance to help raise pupils' attendance. She is able to offer confidential home visits to further support families.
