HARVEST OCTOBER 2023
SEASON OF CREATION SEPTEMBER 2023

All the children in school completed an English unit based on an environmental issue to develop their understanding of how they can become better stewards of God's world.  Children in Y2 were inspired to do a litter pick around the school grounds and were inspired to create a litter picking team so that they can carry on making sure that the grounds are safe for the local wildlife.    Children in Y5 led a fabulous Creation themed liturgy for the whole school where we were reminded about the Pope's special letter 'Laudato Si'.  Children in Y5 also prepared a special display board for the Diocesan office.

PENTECOST MAY 2023
CROWNING OF MARY MAY 2023

Reception children presented Mary with flowers  during our Liturgy today.   The children sang Immaculate Mary and As I Kneel before you beautifully and Fr Colin led us through the Angelus.
THE STATIONS OF THE CROSS MARCH 2023

Our Y4 children were invited to present the Stations of the Cross for the Parish.   They were rewarded with a Lenten lunch which they really enjoyed!
LENT 2023
AGENTS OF CHANGE MARCH 2023

Our Agents of Change club have also been busy in school.   They watched a short clip from David Attenbrough's Wild Isles and discussed the ways that nature in the UK is being affected by humans.
The children then thought of ways in which they could help. We linked this to our Lent topic (giving ourselves to nature).   We decided on making bird feeders to encourage the wildlife in our school grounds.
SUPPORTING TURKEY & SYRIA FEBRUARY 2023

The pupil chaplains asked if they would be able to fundraise for the Turkey/Syria Earthquake appeal as the wider family of some of their friends in school had been directly affected by the earthquake.    We agreed that they could wear red and white for a donation and together they raised £204.31 for the Earthquake Appeal fund.
PRAYER SPACE FEBRUARY 2023

Our new Prayer Space is very busy at lunchtimes and the Pupil Chaplains are enjoying  sharing stories and prayers with other pupils.
OUR EPIPHANY of THE LORD LITURGY JANUARY 2023

Children in Y1 led the readings and the prayers beautifully for our Epiphany of the Lord Liturgy.   We were visited by the three wise men and learned about what it means to trust in God's guidance.
CHRISTMAS GIFTS DECEMBER 2022

We are pleased to advise that we have raised over £200 for our Christmas CAFOD gifts this year.  Thank you for all your donations.  With this money the children have chosen to buy three chickens, 4 packets of seeds to start a vegetable garden, three goats, three emergency water packs and a queen bee for a community that is living in poverty!

EYFS & KS1 Nativity

Reception and Year 1 & 2 treated the school and parish to a musical performance of the Christmas story.
Y1 & Y2 TRIP TO ANGELS DAY AT BUCKFAST ABBEY DECEMBER 2022

Year 1 & Year 2 had a lovely day at Buckfast Abbey.  They went on an angel hunt around Buckfast, made some angel craft and listened to some stories about angels.

HARVEST OCTOBER 2022

"There is enough for everyone if we share!"

Children in Year 2 led our whole school Harvest liturgy on Wednesday 18 October. We collected donations for CAFOD to help the victims of the famine in Sudan and we collected food donations for our local Foodbank at Holy Angels.
WATERAID JUNE 2022

After hearing about how some people have to carry water a really long way from source to  home - our pupil chaplains sold squash at playtime for several weeks and raised over £30 for Wateraid.
SUPPORTING UKRAINE MARCH 2022

On Friday 11 March we dressed in blue and yellow to show solidarity with the people of Ukraine.  We also collected donations and together raised £320 for the Red Cross to support the relief effort.  Year Two wrote a letter to Boris Johnson asking him to show kindness and compassion by allowing Ukrainian refugees to come to the UK.
OUR COMMON HOME MAY 2021

Our children have been learning about the impact of climate change around the world. They have taken part in an @CAFODschools campaign to remind our government that our eyes are on them whilst they make important decisions regarding the steps they will take to tackle global poverty, injustice and the climate crisis at the G7 summit in June 2021.

SINGING AT THE PARISH CHRISTMAS CONCERT DECEMBER 2020

Our Choir was invited to sing at the Christmas Concert to raise money for the HCPT group.
