Our Philosophy
Our pupils love making! Each term they are given the opportunity to carry out a design technology project through the whole plan, make, review cycle. They also complete an additional cooking project and cross curricular science and design technology project each year.
Based on the Kapow scheme of work, our design technology curriculum ensures that the same knowledge and skills are built upon each year to enable our pupils to flourish within this area of the curriculum.
Curriculum Aims
In line with the National Curriculum for Design & Technology, we aim to ensure that, by the end of Key Stage Two, all pupils:

develop the creative, technical and practical expertise needed to perform everyday tasks confidently and to participate successfully in an increasingly technological world

build and apply a repertoire of knowledge, understanding and skills in order to design and make high-quality prototypes and products for a wide range of users

critique, evaluate and test their ideas and products and the work of others

understand and apply the principles of nutrition and learn how to cook.
