Jakub Piwowar is the national schools champion!
The 11-year-old was seeded top in the Under-11 Boys category at the Butterfly National School Individual finals in Wolverhampton at the weekend.
And he justified that seeding as he beat second seed Joseph Cooper of Derbyshire 3-0 (11-5, 14-12, 11-7) in the final.
Piwowar’s closest match, and the only one in which he dropped a game, was in the quarters against Sam Davies, which he won 3-1.
The champion said: “I’m happy because I didn’t finish second like I did last year. I felt a little bit of pressure but I had to forget I was the first seed and just keep playing my game.”
