Today, I took four Y6 children - Carolina, Dexter, Ryhanah and Alex to Torquay Boys Grammar School to participate in a model UN debate on Climate Change and Global Warming. Three other schools attended the debate - Sherwell Valley Primary School, Shiphay Learning Academy and Abbotskerswell Primary School. Each school became a country - Our Lady of the Angels represented India, Sherwell Valley was France, Shiphay debated China and Abbotskerswell was Brazil. The children were supported by Sixth Formers from TBGS and TBGGS studying Politics and History and Y9 boys. All the children listened superbly to their team help and they were incredibly respectful to the Sixth Form students chairing the debate.
The debate was lively and I was proud of the contribution our Y6 children made to the debate. The children could not stop talking about this on the way back to school! Well done to everyone who took part.
