Our Philosophy
At Our Lady of the Angels we encourage pupils to think about how Science relates to their everyday lives.  We encourage pupils to ask questions about the world around them and empower them to answer these questions using scientific thinking.  We strive to make our learning hands-on and practical through memorable, enquiry-based investigations and make effective use of our outdoor areas to support this.
Curriculum Aims
In line with the National Curriculum for Science, we aim to ensure that, by the end of Key Stage Two, all pupils:
  • develop scientific knowledge and conceptual understanding through the specific disciplines of biology, chemistry and physics

  • develop understanding of the nature, processes and methods of science through different types of science enquiries that help them to answer scientific questions about the world around them

  • are equipped with the scientific knowledge required to understand the uses and implications of science, today and for the future.
