Our Class - 2
Teachers: Mrs Hill
TAs: Mrs Rogers, Mrs Pethard and Miss Kershaw
Remember to access Doodle everyday. Below are some other helpful tips whilst working from home.
English - Some suggestions for fun writing tasks: Write a daily diary, keep a family scrapbook, write stories, write letters and postcards to family/friends you can't visit.
Spellings - Work through the Year 2 common exception word list. Practise spelling them and using them in sentences etc. Play games such as hang-man / create word searches etc to make learning them more fun.
PE - Keeping active is really important for our mental and physical health. You can devise your own games or follow some of the links shared in the Year 2 overview.
Reading- Please continue to read daily with your child and encourage them to choose a wide range of books and to complete the Accelerated Reading quizzes, once they are able to. Once they have read their school books, you can search for books on the AR website. If books from home are listed, they can be read and quizzed on!! Please keep reading!!
Maths - Play games such as monopoly, or games that involve adding 2 dice together, counting steps etc. Times table games - there are lots of Doodle or other internet sites. Challenge each other to write out the xxx times table the quickest. Make your own version of matching pairs for Times tables.
Please practise spelling the common exception words for year 2 (attached below) and using them in sentences.
You could challenge each other to include as many of them in a sentence as possible (it does need to make sense) or write silly sentences with them.

Under the Sea
We are currently all working from home. I will send school work via teachers2parents emails over the coming weeks. If you have any questions or concerns regarding your child's home learning, please email me via the firstname.lastname@example.org email address and mark it as 'FAO Mrs Hill'. I will be checking emails daily and will get back to you as soon as possible.
Stay home, stay safe, stay well.
Class 2 thoroughly enjoyed their morning of athletics hosted by TBGS.
The children thoroughly enjoyed a visit from Shaldon Zoo. They were all impeccably behaved and incredibly brave. They met a giant stick insect, giant African snails, a hissing cockroach, meal worms and wax worms. They were braver than me!
