We will have two shorter topics during the Summer 1 half term. First we will learn about Jack and The Beanstalk, in which we we learn about plants. We will be planting lots of seeds and will appreciate any kind donations of gardening equipment, pots, soil and seeds! Afterwards, we will learn about countries around the world, with a special focus on India, Kenya and Mexico. We will compare where we live with another place in the world as part of our learning in Geography.
You can find out about our current learning for this topic by clicking on our Topic Web.
We have been learning about multiplication. We have used lots of resources to help us. Here are some photos of some of our learning.
What makes a home? Must it be made of bricks? Does it need a roof? Should a home have rooms? We decided that a home for people is somewhere you live which usually keeps you warm and dry. We look at different homes around the world. We sorted building into homes for people, homes for animals and building which are not homes.
We celebrated World Maths Day on 7th March. We practised our adding skills in a dice game and doubling counters on ladybirds. We made pictograms on the computer, which was lots of fun! Also, we made some repeating patterns using the pegboards and had a go at a problem-solving challenge linked to our topic about homes. We love maths! Enjoy our photos.
Excitingly, for this term, we will be having some PE lessons with TUFC. We will be developing our throwing, catching and kicking and playing team games.
Our PE lessons are on Monday and Thursday each week. Please ensure your child has their PE kit in school and that all items are labelled with their name.
