For the final half term of the year, we will be learning about animals. We are very excited about the upcoming trip to Paignton Zoo! As part of our learning in history, we will be making biographies about the founder of Paignton Zoo, Herbert Whitley. Of course, we will also be learning lots about animals in our science lessons. We are looking forward to learning lots during this topic!
You can find out about our current learning for this topic by clicking on our Topic Web.
We have been learning about multiplication. We have used lots of resources to help us. Here are some photos of some of our learning.
What makes a home? Must it be made of bricks? Does it need a roof? Should a home have rooms? We decided that a home for people is somewhere you live which usually keeps you warm and dry. We look at different homes around the world. We sorted building into homes for people, homes for animals and building which are not homes.
We celebrated World Maths Day on 7th March. We practised our adding skills in a dice game and doubling counters on ladybirds. We made pictograms on the computer, which was lots of fun! Also, we made some repeating patterns using the pegboards and had a go at a problem-solving challenge linked to our topic about homes. We love maths! Enjoy our photos.
On Wednesday 11th July, we went on a trip to Paignton Zoo. We learnt about animal classification in a workshop and saw lots of different animals. We were also very lucky to have ice-lollies too! It was a very fun day.
Excitingly, we will be having some PE lessons with Torquay United Football Club. We will be developing our throwing, catching and kicking and playing team games.

Our PE lessons are on Monday and Thursday each week. Please ensure your child has their PE kit in school and that all items are labelled with their name.
