Reception

PE learning in the Reception class helps children build confidence in movement, coordination, and teamwork through a variety of engaging activities. In introductory PE sessions, they explore basic movement patterns, learning how to balance, run, jump, and control their bodies both while stationary and in motion. Dance introduces them to rhythm and expressive movement, encouraging creativity as they follow simple routines. Gymnastics focuses on developing strength, flexibility, and balance as children practice controlled movements and sequences. Ball skills improve hand-eye coordination through throwing, catching, rolling, and striking activities. In games, children learn teamwork, strategy, and fair play, developing social and communication skills alongside physical development. Through these activities, children gain confidence, build resilience, and develop a lifelong enjoyment of being active while refining their movement skills.
